F.A.S.T.
A Firefighter Assistance Support Team (F.A.S.T.) is now in operation at this department. The project is spearheaded by Coordinator, Jamie Pelton. When the Garden Valley firefighters are on major fires, overnight incidents, accidents, and wildland fires, all food and drink are supplied by this volunteer group, and require distribution to the scene. This team is strictly a volunteer effort. Help in organizing and operating fund raisers during the year is a critical aspect for this group.
Assistance is always needed in many different categories i.e. Food and Drink Distribution, Fund Raising, Child-care for volunteer firefighter's children, animal evacuation (they find a place to house and/or transport), and phone tree assistance. All emergencies happen around the clock. It is necessary to provide support at a moments notice and at any time of day. Are you interested in helping out?
